Bio:
La‘akea Yoshida is the Chief Operating Officer at the Institute for Native Pacific Education (INPEACE) and Culture where he is responsible for managing the organization’s daily operations, and, where he has direct oversight of INPEACE’s Human Resources, Development, Digital Media, Communications, and Data divisions.
Prior to his role as COO he worked as INPEACE’s Vice President of Programs, as part of the Martinez Fellowship at Seattle’s Technology Access Foundation, and as a research assistant and lecturer at the University of Washington.
La‘akea is a keen problem solver, aspiring indigenous scholar, and driven by a desire to support and partner with communities to build equitable spaces for all individuals.
La‘akea holds a Master’s Degree in Classics (Roman History) from University of Oxford, a Bachelor’s Degree in History from the University of Hawai‘i‘ Hilo, and a Certificate in Indigenous Political Leadership from George Washington University. La‘akea is currently working towards his Doctorate in Educational Foundations (History of Education) at the University of Washington in Seattle.
